Homeschool & Pre-School Programs

Beginning in Fall of 2010 I will be offering group lessons for our Las Vegas Homeschool Students and Pre-School groups.  Available in your choice of location (Summerlin/NW area church, home or clubhouse) I will travel to you and enjoy sharing the world of music with you and your children.

• Minimum enrollment required per class is 6 students.
• Length of class is 6 weeks with 4 sessions offered during the school year and 1 summer session.
• The fee for each session is determined by the number of students enrolled.
 

Are Suzuki Lessons For You?
Many parents have heard of the Suzuki method of teaching/learning an instrument, but are not familiar with the philosophy and practical application.  Come join me for a 6-hour introduction to this wonderful, family-oriented approach to learning an instrument.  Please note: this is a required class for those wishing to enroll their child(ren) in the Suzuki Flute Group Class or Suzuki Private Lessons.  Parent(s) only for hours 1-3.  Children join us for hours 4-6.  Class length: 60 minutes

Group Recorder I - If you have never played an instrument, this class is for you? Note reading, fingering, counting, breathing and music basics.  This is a great and inexpensive way to learn an instrument and a performance at the end of the school year will be scheduled.  Soprano recorders (Baroque fingering) and songbooks are available for purchase at your first class.  Bach Class: Ages 5-7  Vivaldi Class: Ages 8-11  Class length: 50 minutes.

Group Recorder II - Come and nejoy playing songs, rounds and harmonies with your friends. This class is geared toward students who have completed the first year of 'Recorder I' or who have had previous music experience. A performance at  Christmas time is included.  Ages 8-12. Class length: 50 minutes.

Suzuki Flute Group Class is a very special class for those students wishing to have a more traditional music experience.  Breathing, rice spitting (yes, rice spitting!), fingering, instrument care and posture are only some of the techniques we will learn.  Special surprise helpers will join us from time to time.  Curved headjoint flutes will be required for the smaller students.  Suzuki Flute Book 1, Book 1-2 CD  and a notebook are needed for the first class.  Parental completion of 'Are Suzuki Lessons For You?' and weekly lesson attendance/participation are required.  Mozart Class: Ages 4-7  Quantz Class: Ages 8-11  Doppler Class: Ages 12 and up.  Class length: 50 minutes.

Suzuki Private/Semi-Private Lessons in Flute or Piano - Private or semi-private instruction on the instrument of your choice.  Flute students must have their own instrument and piano students must have a high-quality keyboard or piano at their home.  Parental completion of "Are Suzuki Lessons For You?" and weekly lesson attendance are required.  All lessons are held in my home.  Ages 3 and up. Class length: 30 or 45 minutes.
